Temperatures.

Most indoor touchscreen monitors are designed to work in a temperature range between 0-40 ℃, but there are a lot of cases that the temperature can go much higher than that even if it is indoors:

A, if you installed open frame touchscreens inside the kiosks, the temperature can frequently climb higher than 40℃ if the room gets hotter than 30℃, Which is common and perhaps happening every day in the summer of the south of Europe, Africa and the East, south of Asia and tropical areas, it could even hotter, given kiosks are semi opening environment and there are a lot of electronics devices such as PC and printers could generate and increase the heat to the touchscreens and LCDs.

Do this:

Turn on the air conditioner and set the temperature below 27℃ when the temperature exceeds 35 ℃ or better if 30℃, to ensure the touchscreen monitor is operating in a cool environment.

If there is no AC available, Install and turn on the fan inside the kiosk to activate the circulation of airflow and venting for cooling.

Contact your touchscreen monitor supplier or designer, if they could improve the cooling of the monitor from the structures and materials.

Hire a new outdoor touchscreen, which is an industrial touchscreen monitor, to endure the high temperature such as 50. Or even 60℃, make sure that you are operating them at their standard operating temperature.

Sunshine

Summers usually come with longer daylight, The temperature is accumulating and reaching higher than expected when exposed to the sunlight, it could be much higher than 40℃ which could damage the indoor touchscreen and LCDs.

 Do this:

If you are in Northern Hemisphere, turn the direction of the touchscreen monitor facing to the North and install 3-side shelters to avoid sunlight exposure, otherwise, long time exposure to sunlight could bring permanent and serious damage to the monitor LCDs. This situation and application can be wide, such as an outdoor information kiosk, providing information about touchscreen monitors. Or a touchscreen device in an outdoor workshop...

Reflections

Even if you are setting your monitor indoors, the room can be extra brighter if you are closed to the window without a curtain, or you are on a balcony, and it could be hard to identify the content on the touchscreen than operating them, the situation could be worse in summer.

Do this:
